Defiance County General Health District licenses and inspects Public Pools and Spas as required under Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 3701-31. The district currently licenses eight year round pools, three spas and seven seasonal pools. During an inspection, a Sanitarian will check water quality, filtration and circulation systems, safety equipment, signage, recordkeeping and general sanitation. The primary goal of the licensing and inspection program is to promote bather safety and prevent the transmission of disease.
