The walking trail is open to the public on the grounds of the Defiance County East campus at 1300 East Second Street. The one-mile walking trail is designed to encourage physical activity for the residents of Defiance County. The trail was developed and implemented through the cardiovascular health grant from the Ohio Department of Health. The starting point of the trail is at the northwest corner of the Defiance County East building along the sidewalk and is clearly marked with signs provided by the cardiovascular health grant.

“Step Up and Step Out – Defiance County”  - a guide to local walking opportunities is available to download and print. Measured walking areas of Ney, Evansport, Hicksville and Defiance are featured. Additional suggested walking areas in each part of Defiance County are listed.  The benefits of walking, how to begin a walking program and a chart to record twelve weeks of daily exercise is included.
