Epidemiology & Statistics

Preventing diseases and injuries among Defiance County residents is a primary goal for all staff at Defiance County Public Health. Our epidemiologists work hard to conduct disease and injury surveillance through ongoing collection, analysis, and reporting of public health data. These assessments are used to characterize the Who, What, When, Where, and Why of public health issues that are important to our community. Click the links below to view the epidemiology reports.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses, like flu, this fall and winter is more important than ever. CDC has worked with vaccine manufacturers to have extra flu vaccine available this flu season. Manufacturers have already begun distributing flu vaccine and will continue to distribute vaccine throughout the season. CDC recommends getting a flu vaccination in September or October but getting vaccinated anytime during the flu season can help protect you. Defiance County Flu data can be viewed by clicking through these tabs.
