Defiance County Leadership Council

The Defiance County Leadership Council (DCLC) is a group of student leaders from each of the 5 Defiance County School Districts. School staff advisors at each district help to identify a student from each grade level (9-12) to be involved as their schools DCLC student rep. These students work on youth led prevention campaigns in their schools with focuses on substance use prevention, mental health awareness, and other safety topics relevant to their peers. The students meet monthly with the DCLC Adult Coordinator to plan campaigns around the agreed upon monthly topic.
Funding for the DCLC campaigns comes from the DFC and youth prevention enhancement grant opportunities that the DCLC Adult Coordinator applies for on behalf of the students.
