National Public Health Week

MARCH 25, 2024

DEFIANCE, OH- Each year, during the first week of April, we come together to celebrate National Public Health Week (NPHW). During this week, we raise awareness about what public health is and how we all work together for a safe, healthy community. This year, NPHW is April 1 – 7 with the theme of “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health.” The Defiance County Health Department (DCHD) will be sharing how we can all protect, connect, and thrive in safe, healthy communities.

Public health is more than just health care. It’s the steps we take to make sure our neighborhoods and environment are healthy for all. It’s making sure our food and water are safe to eat and drink. It’s also the relationships we foster in our communities. We’re all interconnected. When we all come together to support public health, all of us — individuals, families, communities and the public health field — can achieve the goals of public health

County residents are encouraged to follow DCHD throughout National Public Health Week (NPHW) to learn about the various aspects of public health; what we can do to protect, connect and thrive; and how we are all public health. DCHD will be sharing a message each day during the first week in April on each of these social media platforms:
