Health Promotion
The Health Promotion Division works to promote health and improve population health outcomes in Defiance County. The division works closely with coalitions and partners to use evidence based interventions to meet goals. Work is informed by data and reports including but not limited to: the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan; Defiance County General Health District’s (DCGHD) Strategic Plan; Defiance County Health Equity Report; the Public Health Accreditation Board’s Standards & Measures.
The Director of Health Promotion serves as a liaison between DCGHD and the Public Health Services Council of Ohio (PHSCO). PHSCO contracts with DCGHD to provide an Epidemiologist and an Emergency Planner. The Epidemiologist and Emergency Planner provide services identified by DCGHD staff, or as required by grants and state regulation.
