Defiance County Safe Communities Traffic Fatalities Report 2024
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]The Defiance County Safe Communities Coalition reports four traffic crash fatalities from January 1, 2024 – June 30, 2024. This in an increase in comparison to one fatal crash in Defiance County during the same months in 2023.
As of July 1, 2024, the Ohio Traffic Safety Office reports 555 confirmed traffic crash fatalities for 2024 as compared to 606 fatalities in 2023. This data is preliminary and will likely change in the coming weeks. Currently, this is an 8% decrease in fatalities. However, this amounts to approximately: 2.9 fatal crashes per day, 3.0 persons killed per day, or one person killed every 7.9 hours in Ohio.
